PayTM vs freecharge vs MobiKwik

PayTM, freecharge and MobiKwik are three most popular payment gateways in India.
The main objective of all these services are same, recharging Mobiles, Data Cards and DTH. The difference is in facilities and customer services.

PayTM is undoubtedly the most popular among all the three. And surely there is reason is behind this. They have superb customer service and very low transaction failure rate. Other than this they have very simple and easy UI .
The best thing is that I can get quick recharges through toll free IVRS even on zero balance (I often stuck in situation when I have no call and data balance).
Pros:-
  • Good UI
  • Mobile App (iOS, Android, Windows Phone)
  • Recharge through toll free IVRS
  • Bill Payments of Gas and Electricity through wallet money
  • Many free and useful coupons.
  • Low transaction failure rate
  • BusTickets
Cons:-
  • Trying to be payments gateway for physical goods but not reliable due to very low merchants.
  • Services other than recharging mobile is limited to selected cities.
  • IVRS doesn't support MNP numbers.
Freecharge is new in market but catching quickly. They are keeping it simple by not adding gas, electricity
and blah blah bill payments. In simple words they are limited to Mobile Recharges. They claim to be fastest . I don't have much experience in using it.
They lacks facility of recharging through SMS or IVRS .

Pros:-

  • Easy to use
  • Most Coupon are related to restaurant and movies.
  • Good mobile app
Cons:-

  • Cannot recharge through IVRS or SMS
  • Not easy to use on feature phones
Mobikwik have most facilities among all three. Apart from mobile recharges you can use your wallet money
for shopping too. You can get recharges through SMS and Call (not toll free). There is also option to collect money for your wallet from your home through cash (Selected cities).
I was a long time customer of mobikwik. Personally I don't like their UI. I faced lot of transaction issues. But most of them are solved within 24 hours after writing to them.

Pros:-
  • Good mobile website, can be used from a Simple feature phone.
  • Good cashback offers every season
  • Can recharge through call or SMS too.
  • Good customer support
Cons:-
  • No toll free number
  • Payment gateway issues
  • most features are limited to selected cities
  • Bad smartphone apps

In my opinion PayTM is best if you don't care for much offers . But if you want good deals you can look out freecharge and mobikwik .
